I saw several posts already with good info i wanted to comment on several, but ive decided to compile all this info here in one place instead.Īs youve noticed, the stock ipod software (not really itunes but we'll call it that) does have a limit to the database size. I'll probably take out 256gb and see if that does help because I am not quite sure if was to much storage to read properly or to many songs. What is your experience? Where are the limitations? I obviously wanted to much and he was overwhelmed with 20'000+ songs. Now I put a few songs on him and it worked. SO I reseted, and he got stuck on the reset for several hours until I gave up and went into DFU and restored. When I tried to play a song he got stuck and wasn't responding. It worked and I unplugged him in the evening. No biggie happened before with OG ones so I just have to wait a bit longer. During the night something went wrong and about 9'000 songs didn't sync. I synced all my 23'232 songs and went to bed with high hopes for the morning to enjoy my library on the go. Plugged the bad boy in and was amazed that it worked and iTunes took it like it was nothing. This all worked quite fine and the installation (after ruining a headphone jack ribbon) went well. i Flash Quad with: 2x256gb and 1x128gb (iTunes gives me a 589.62gb capacity).Back plate from a 30gb 5th gen in ok-ish condition.
I had for about 11 years finally broke down so I had the idea of getting a 5th gen and put a iFlash quad in it for maximum storage. I used to have several different iPods and other music players over the years but I seem to get drawn back to the classic every time.
